A little update from my desk…

Discovery Health has announced its 2027 changes. I’ve pulled together a few of the updates that stood out to me – from contribution changes and a new plan option to more personalised health support.

THE 2027 SNAPSHOT

WHAT’S NEW?

1.  Contribution changes8.2% is the weighted average increase for 2027. Individual plan increases range from 7.4% to 8.9%, depending on the plan option.
2. Active CoreA new option focused on affordability, with unlimited hospital cover through the Active Hospital Network and up to R8,000 in day-to-day benefits through the Personal Health Fund.
3. Personal Health PathwaysDiscovery’s precision-health platform becomes more personalised in 2027, with deeper Personal Health Insights and tailored Next Best Actions to help members understand their health and take meaningful action.
4. More preventative supportThe 2027 updates include strengthened cardiovascular health support and enhanced preventative health initiatives, helping eligible members act earlier on important health risks.

HEALTHCARE IS GETTING MORE PERSONAL

Personal Health Pathways is designed to turn a better understanding of your health into practical, personalised guidance. Discovery says that in 2027 members will receive deeper Personal Health Insights and thousands of tailored Next Best Actions. Engagement with the pathway can also help members unlock value through the Personal Health Fund.
